Pair of Flintlock “Sea Captains” style flintlock belt pistols with attached swivel ramrods marked “Westley Richards London”. Measures approximately 11 ½” overall with 5 ½” barrel of .50-.52 caliber smoothbore and contained within an original to the period red felt line case which is inscribed in script letters on the lid “Captn. J Stepford R.N. (Royal Navy). The pistols remain in original fine to excellent condition showing nearly all their original finishes. The barrels are tobacco brown striped retaining 97%-99% aging slightly. The locks show 90%-95% case colors toning just a bit. The trigger guards show 80% plus bright blue with a little thinning. The stocks show minimal storage and handling and are about fine. An excellent lacquered flask of proper age and size is included along with correct and near fine mold and 1 rod (1 missing). The lining is near fine with minor impressions, slight wear at the edges and slight imperfections. The exterior of the case shows a loss at joint in one corner and some aging but at least good to very good overall with authentic inscription on plate. (Antique) Est.: $3500-$7000
