Early flintlock all metal pistol of Northern European manufacture showing outside spring and sear mechanism connected to trigger circa about 1650-70s. Unmarked and unsigned showing good quality and typical North German to Dutch styling similar to Cloeter signed pistols. Measures 18 ¾” overall with a 12 ½” barrel of approximately .52 caliber smoothbore. Brass tipped ramrod may be the original as proper size and style. Thefrizzen and pan are attached to the barrel and frame by 2 screws and this is a ingenious mechanism that is sleek in its design and simplistic. The condition is very good with only minor pitting and erosion. All originalsmall parts and not “Rubbed Out” with good edges and full dimensions. Suitable for an advanced European arms Collection.
