Napoleonic Empire Period Flintlock Officer’s pistols signed Frachetti Minelli. Italian made in French style most likely when Napoleon placed his brother Joseph on the thrones of Naples. Nicely stocked in lightcolored burl wood with select grain and no checkering. Richly engraved steel mounts and locks in stands of arms and pineapples and floral scrolls. The barrels are also well engraved with knight in armour and arms withscroll at the breech. The pair measure 13 ¾” overall with 8” barrels of .69 caliber smoothbore. The barrels are nicely made also with flattened edges at the breech area. Original flintlock with correct parts. Theactions function well and are tight and crisp. The metal is bright and unpolished being in fine original condition as are the stocks showing only very minor imperfections. A beautiful and unusual pair rating 9.5 on a 1-10 scale for condition.
