Pair of 17th century inlaid Silesian wheelock pistols with etched locks and marked “T R” at the breech ends of the barrels. The inlay is bone and pearl with figures of game, dogs, scrolls and florals. The inlays are 98%+intact and we can detect no modern replacements under magnification. The hammers, springs and wheel retainers are all nicely chiseled and decorated. Correct style bone tipped ramrods are included. The locksare complete with springs and chains. A collection tag #11 is attached to each guard. Provenance Frank Bivens. The pistols have been reduced in length 3”-6” during period of use when powder was improved. Worthy of aserious collection. Measures 21” overall with 13” barrels of approximately .54 caliber smoothbore. (Antique) Est.: $10,000-$20,000
