Pair of Percussion Pistols signed “Forsyth & Co Patent”. Measures 15 5/8” overall with 9” heavy octagon barrel of approximately .62-.64 caliber smoothbore with interesting swivel ramrods secured by a locking spring. Standard percussion cap ignition with key type release to traps in the butt that are oversize compartments. Irish registration marks “K B 439” on each barrel near the muzzle. Very good plus to near fine condition with most of its original stripped tobacco brown finish on the barrels and silvery case colors on the locks. 80%-90% bright robin’s egg blue on the trigger guards and butt cap plates. Sighted barrels with double platinumbands at the breech. An unusual and near fine pair by a desirable maker known for his patents on the foil cap and ignition systems. (Antique) Est.: $2500-$5000
