Early to Mid-18th century Scottish style flintlock pistol with rams horn shaped butt. Unusual sear mechanism whereas the sear spring protrudes through lock and blocks hammer until trigger releases. No markings or proofs. Pick in butt missing. Original flintlock configuration with correct small parts. The ramrod is a correct style steel replacement. The condition is fair to good with scattered pitting and erosion. Thebarrel sits up above the stock and this is a genuine early pistol showing forging in its manufacture and could be pre-coloudon or shortly after. The lock is working but not holding on full cock needing just minoradjustments. (Antique) Est.: $2000-$4000
