Chieftain’s quality gold and silver decorated and European made flintlock pistol circa early 1800s. Very good quality silver wire inlay with exceptional plaque work and fine delicate engraved floral accents. Goodquality cast silver mounts with handsome pierced side plate. Gold inlaid lock and barrel in scroll and floral design. Measures 15 ½” overall with a 9 ½” barrel of approximately .62 caliber smoothbore. Themetal shows a dark uncleaned patina and the lock works well. The wire is 95%+ intact and the stock is good to very good other than some loss and damage by the inside left stirrup to butt. A very well decorated andornate pistol of a higher grade than normally found. (Antique) Est.: $1500-$3000
