Authentic carved American Powder Horn inscribed “Edmund Austin’s Horn, Made at Lake George, Octobry Ad 1758, I Powder with My Brother Baul, A hero Like, I Conquer All, The Root is Red, Her Grass is Green, The Daysare Paft which I Have Seen”. A depiction of fort with a Tower central subject with florals, trees, birds and another word by spout we cannot decipher. The horn shows a good patina with some carry and wear andminor damage and loss at end and around plug which is painted red (Ocre) and original. Name penned on old tag “McKilluf” and small collection #175 on sticker. The horn bottom has been drilled long ago for cord duringuse. A major S.C. Collector was advised to purchase this horn from an eastern auction by Walter O’ Connor well known expert before he moved from California more than 30 years ago. Est.: $8,000-$16,000
