Germanic 18th century flintlock Jaegar gun with offset stock made for right hand shooter to use dominant left eye. Unsigned but good quality with elaborate raised carving and plain brass mounts. Leaping stag brass inlayin front of the patch box. Measures 49” overall with a 35” octagon barrel of approximately .70 caliber smoothbore (About 12GA). Original flintlock parts and hammer with lined in brass plug. The metal surfacesshow light to slightly heavy scattered erosion and pitting with the heavier pitting occurring on the breech and firing areas behind the lock. The stock shows some areas of minor loss and damage with some olderrepairs. The carving is fairly crisp in the stock and there is some worming born in the wood. Correct style ramrod and swivel and brass bands retained. This type gun is usually rifled but probably orderedsmoothbore due to owner’s poor vision. (Antique) Est.: $2000-$4000
