Pair of classic English dueling pistols by John Richards London Converted from flintlock to percussion in their original case with his trade label in the lid. Measures 16” overall with 9 ½” octagon barrels of .52-.54 caliber smoothbore. The pair are nicely converted with engraving on the hammers matched to locks possibly by Richards or London gunsmith. The pair retain most of their original tobacco brown on the barrels and strong case hardening remaining on the locks. The trigger guards show 70%-90% bright original blue. The checkering and stocks are sharp and the stocks are almost fine condition. The silver owner’s plaques are nicely inscribed “G R”. The green felt lined case is good to very good with normal discoloration, aging, and small imperfections. No mold present. Flask, nipple wrench and jag included. The trade label is original and indicates founding in 1756 with full line of products and services listed and address on the strand “London” where the elite shops were located. The exterior of the case is very good with original brass handle and hardware. A very nice pair of classic duelers. (Antique) Est.: $3000-$6000
