James Bown & Sons percussion half-stocked Kentucky rifle, .36 caliber. The rifle is in very good overall condition with a 39” octagon barrel with a German silver knife blade front, semi-buckhorn rear sights and afull-length ramrod. The barrel and side plate have gone to a mottled brown patina. The barrel is marked, “JAS BOWN & SONS PITTSBURGH, P.A.” with “KILL BUCK” and a deer. Additionally, the barrel flat ismarked,”ENTERPRISE GUNWORKS”. The hammer is engraved and the side plate is also marked Jas. Bown & Sons. The rifle has double set triggers. The trigger guard, patch box and butt plate are completed in pewter. Thesmooth wood stock has a red finish with a cheek piece and a great look. The action works well and the markings are crisp on this interesting half-stock percussion rifle by a noted Pennsylvania gunsmith. The rifle has a Butterfield & Butterfield tag attached from a previous auction. Est.: $300-600. (Antique).

Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
