This Is A Female Dancer That'S Barefoot And Has Both Arms Out To Her Left Side. While Her Right Leg Is Bend All The The Way Upwards To Her Chest. She Performance For The Crowd Without A Care To Her Face She Smiles Proudly. This Sculpture Was Cast Using The "Lost Wax Method" And Has A Two Tone Brown Patina And Is Mounted On A Marble Base. This Sculpture Is Signed By C.Jr Colinet. Claire Jeanne Rob Colinet (1852-1908)Belgian Sculptor Colinet Was Well Known In Her Day And Remembered For Her Series Dancers Of The World, Which Included Ankara Dancer. Colinet Worked In Ivory, Bronze And Chryselephantine, As Did Most Other Sculptors Of The Time. Colinet Regularly Incorporated Theatrical Themes Into Her Sculptors, Especially With Her Dancers. Colinet S Sculptures Were Not Stoic And Frozen, But Were Full-Figured And Energized With Strong Impressions While Being Dynamically Posed.
