Featured in this lot is Egyptian Islamic "Surah Al Fatiha" written in Thuluth or close variant to Naskh written on papyrus circa 20th century. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted artwork on papyrus that shows gold and silver lettering with a decorative border consistent with Egyptian Islamic artwork and framed in a modern metal frame. The artwork was translated and reads as follows: "In the name of allah, the most gracious, the most merciful. Praise be to allah, the Lord of the worlds. The most gracious, the most merciful. Master of the day of judgement. You alone we worship, and you alone we ask for help. Guide us on the straighht path,, the path of those who have received your grace; not the path of those who have brought down wrath upon themselves, nor of those who have gone astray. Allah almighty has spoken the truth." The condition of this of this papyrus "Surah Al Fatiha" script is well preserved in a display frame with no obvious signs of damage to the artwork and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this framed artwork is 20 1/4" x 17 1/4" and the visible artwork measures 19" x 13". The collective weight of this artwork is 4lb 2oz.
