20th Century (Columbia, 1934). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). This film, one of the first "screwball" comedies, is adapted from the Hecht/MacArthur play "Napoleon of Broadway," which is based loosely on producer David Merrick's life. This dazzling showcase for the talents of John Barrymore and Carole Lombard is the story of a Broadway producer who has lost his Midas touch as well as his starlet protege, Carol Lombard. The two temperamental characters meet again on a train and Barrymore tries desperately to lure her back. Offered here is a lobby picturing Barrymore and Walter Connolly, one of Barrymore's cronies in the film. The card has a 2 1/2" "u" shaped tear in the upper right corner. It has three light bends in the card, one through Barrymore's image and one just in front of Connolly and the last running through Connolly's left shoulder. The card is still in great-looking condition. Fine/Very Fine.
