Auction Details

Treadway/Toomey Galleries, announces their Sunday, May 15th, 20th Century Art and Design Auction located at the John Toomey Gallery in Oak Park Illinois. Included are over 1000 lots of furniture, lighting, metalwork, pottery, and glassware from the Arts and Crafts/Art Nouveau period through a broad range of Modern Design, as well as a selection of fine European and American paintings, prints, and sculpture. The first session will feature several important Gustave Baumann woodblocks, an early Gustav Stickley chest of drawers, and a nice selection of Frank Lloyd Wright furniture and other Arts & Crafts designs. A fine collection of Handel lamps as well as European and American Art Pottery. There is also a large selection of metalware and a nice assortment of Arts & Crafts prints. Session two include a mixture of traditional and modern paintings by such artists Carl Krafft, Theodore Steele, James Beckwith, Charles Dahlgreen, John Hardrick, Lawrence McConaha, William Eyden, Tunis Ponsen and others. Fine sculptures by Ettore Colla, and others The third and final session of the sale, 1950s/Modern. Such designers as, George Nelson, Thaden-Jordan, Eames, Noguchi, Paulin, Harvey Probber, , Knoll, Mies van der Rohe, Paul Frankl, Higgins, Wormley, Paul McCobb, Scarpa, Frank Lloyd Wright, Finn Juhl, and much more.
