20TH ARILLERY BATT., ALABAMA VOLS. PLEDGE IS RECOGNIZED BY THE CONFEDERATE CONGRESS
A great Confederate House of Representative "propaganda" imprint, 1p. 8vo., Richmond, Feb. 3, 1864, a letter from the non-coms and men of Co. B, 20th Artillery Battalion, Alabama Volunteers sent to the House Speaker and ordered by him to be printed. In part: "...as soldiers of nearly three years experience...we feel that a failure to promptly tender our service [and re-enlist] to free our beloved land from the presence of a merciless invader, or fill a soldier's grave, would exhibit a want of patriotism and personal courage...we re-enlist for the war...with a firm reliance in the justice of our cause, we will never lay down our arms...the efficiency of our army...would be materially promoted by the passage of an act of Congress granting...the privilege of re-election of field and company officers upon their re-enlisting for the war...". Very good.

Estimate: $100 - 150.
