Early British flintlock horseman's size pistol with banana shaped lock signed "T.Fort" London on the lock. Also hand stamped "T. Fort Londo" on the barrel with British proofs. Pierced dragoon style sideblade with hand engraved mounts. Originally circa about 1700-1730. Straight grain light walnut or cherry restock with pewter (American style) fore end cap. Measures 18" overall with a 12" barrel of .60 calibersmoothbore. Correct flintlock hammer and small parts. The type British pistol brought to America in colonial era and restocked in the 19th century after decades of use or broken in battle.
