Up for auction is a Victorian era Jubilee Police Medal 1897 in good worn condition. The Medal has its original dark blue worn ribbon. The Medal has a nice aged bronze patina with good detailing. The Medal obverse depicts Queen Victoria facing leftwards with "VICTORIA REGINA" inscription. The reverse has a Royal Crown above laurel wreath, with "Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Victoria" inside. Outside of the wreath reads "Metropolitan Police 1897". The Medal is correctly named:
"PC. H. WYATT E. DIVN"
This would be an excellent research project on a Police Officer during Victorian times, and a nice Victorian Medal on display in any collection!
