Uncirculated 2024-D Harriet Tubman commemorative half dollar issued by the United States Mint as part of the Harriet Tubman Commemorative Coin Program. The obverse features a portrait of Harriet Tubman with arms crossed, set against the backdrop of two Civil War-era steamboats. This side commemorates her leadership in the Combahee River Raid during the Civil War, which resulted in the liberation of over 700 enslaved individuals. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, HARRIET TUBMAN, and 2024. The reverse displays Tubman holding a spyglass before a row of Civil War-era tents, symbolizing her service as a scout and spy for the Union Army. Surrounding text reads CIVIL WAR NURSE SCOUT SPY, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, HALF DOLLAR, and COMBAHEE RIVER RAID 1863. This half dollar is struck in uncirculated finish with a composition of 8.33% nickel and balance copper. The coin weighs 11.34 grams. It features a reeded edge and bears the Denver Mint mark (D).
