This commemorative coin honors the 50th anniversary of NASA's historic Apollo 11 moon landing and is struck in 999 fine silver. Issued in 2019 by the US Mint, this Proof Silver Dollar showcases the iconic boot print on the lunar surface along with the inscriptions MERCURY, GEMINI, and APOLLO, reflecting the missions that led to the Moon landing. The reverse depicts an image based on the famous photograph of Buzz Aldrin's helmet reflecting the US flag, astronaut, and lunar module. Graded PF 70 ULTRA CAMEO by NGC, this coin is part of the First Day of Issue series and features a hand-signed label by Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke, who served as CAPCOM during the Apollo 11 mission. Struck in 999 fine silver with a weight of 26.730 grams, the coin is sealed in a tamper-evident slab and presented in a red velvet drawstring pouch.
