2017 American Silver Eagle proof coin struck at the San Francisco Mint, produced as part of the U.S. Mint's limited-release Congratulations Set. This coin is composed of one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and bears a face value of one dollar. The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's design of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in the American flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak cradled in her left arm. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle with a shield, clutching arrows and an olive branch, with a cluster of thirteen five-pointed stars above. Mint mark "S" is located below the olive branch. Certified by NGC with a grade of PF 69 Ultra Cameo, this proof coin showcases high-contrast frosted devices against mirrored fields. It is hand-signed by John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, who served from 2006 to 2010 and completed a 37-year career with the Mint beginning in 1974. Encapsulated in a tamper-evident holder. Slab: 2.25"L x 0.5"W x 3.25"H. Coin diameter: 39mm.
