2016-W American Silver Eagle one-dollar coin, struck at the West Point Mint and composed of 1 oz. fine silver. This proof coin is NGC graded PF 70 Ultra Cameo and originates from the 2019 West Point Mint Hoard. Issued in celebration of the series' 30th anniversary, this coin features a lettered edge and has been hand-signed by John M. Mercanti, who served as the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint from 2006 until his retirement in 2010. The obverse displays Adolph A. Weinman's iconic design of Liberty walking toward the sun, draped in the American flag and carrying laurel and oak branches. The reverse, designed by Mercanti, shows a heraldic eagle with a shield, clutching arrows and an olive branch, beneath thirteen five-pointed stars. The coin is encased in an NGC protective holder with a certified label bearing Mercanti's signature. Slab: 2.25"L x 0.5"W x 3.25"H. Coin diameter: 39mm.
