2014-W American Silver Eagle $1 proof coin, struck at the West Point Mint and certified by NGC as PF 70 Ultra Cameo. This 1 oz. fine silver coin is graded at the highest proof designation, denoting full strike, flawless surfaces, and exceptional mirrored fields with frosted devices. The obverse, designed by Adolph A. Weinman, features Liberty striding toward the sunrise with her right hand outstretched, draped in the United States flag, and holding branches of laurel and oak in her left hand. The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, depicts a heraldic eagle with shield, holding an olive branch and arrows, with a ribbon bearing the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and thirteen five-pointed stars above representing the original colonies. The coin is encapsulated in a tamper-evident NGC holder and features the signature of Elizabeth Jones, the 11th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint. Appointed by President Ronald Reagan and confirmed by the Senate on September 28, 1981, Jones was officially sworn in on October 27, 1981.
