One United States Mint American Silver Eagle one-dollar coin, struck at the San Francisco Mint in 2013. This example is an Early Releases issue graded Mint State 70 (MS 70) by the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC). The obverse features the classic Walking Liberty design created by Adolph A. Weinman, originally used on the half dollar from 1916 to 1947. The full-length figure of Liberty strides toward the sun, enveloped in the folds of the American flag, with her right hand extended and a branch of laurel and oak cradled in her left arm. The design includes the inscriptions LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the year 2013. The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, depicts a heraldic eagle behind a shield, clutching an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left. Thirteen stars representing the original colonies are positioned above the eagle. Inscriptions include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, 1 OZ. FINE SILVER-ONE DOLLAR, and E PLURIBUS UNUM. This is the Type 1 reverse design, used from 1986 through mid-2021. Composed of one troy ounce of .999 fine silver, this coin is encased in a secure, tamper-evident NGC holder. The label indicates its strike origin at the San Francisco Mint and designates it as an Early Release. Slab: 2.25"L x 0.5"W x 3.25"H. Coin diameter: 39mm.
