The front showcases the elegant Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman on the obverse, her figure wrapped in the folds of the American flag as she strides toward the dawn of a new day and surrounded with LIBERTY, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the year 2013. The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, features the heraldic eagle with shield, grasping arrows and an olive branch beneath a constellation of thirteen stars, representing the unity of the original colonies, finished with the motto UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , E PLURIBUS UNUM 1 OZ.
