United States Mint 2012-S American Silver Eagle 2-Coin Set featuring one proof and one reverse proof coin. Each coin is struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver and bears the "S" mint mark indicating production at the San Francisco Mint. The obverse design on both coins depicts Adolph A. Weinman's historic Walking Liberty figure, originally used on the half-dollar from 1916 to 1947. Liberty is shown draped in the American flag, striding toward the sunrise, carrying branches of laurel and oak. Inscriptions include "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the year "2012." The reverse of each coin displays John Mercanti's heraldic eagle with shield design, featuring a bundle of arrows in the eagle's right talon and an olive branch in its left. A ribbon in the beak reads "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and a cluster of 13 stars represents the original colonies. The reverse also includes the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER-ONE DOLLAR," and the "S" mint mark. Coins are presented in the original United States Mint clamshell-style display case with navy blue exterior and velvet-lined interior. Box: 6.75"L x 4"W x 1.75"H.
