Imperial Faberge Eggs are a magnificent series of minted works by Carl Peter Faberge and his assistants. Thanks to the exuberance, intricacy and splendor of decoration, Faberge Eggs have gained a huge popularity as jewelry masterpieces. Now, struck in .925 proof silver, they are sure to become an extravagant and luxurious addition to any modern coin collection. On the obverse of this silver Faberge coin, there is the image of the open Spring Flowers Egg with a miniature basket of wood anemones inside. The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is surrounded by the florid ornament with the legends indicating the face value of the Niue coin, its issuing country and year. The beautifully crafted reverse features the Swan Egg (1906), a gift from Tzar Nicholas II to his mother. Made of opaque mauve enamel with a crystal encrusted trellis design, the egg contains a miniature gold and silver swan swimming on a lake of aquamarine. Imperial Faberge Eggs got their name due to the fact that they were made for Alexander III and Nicholas II of Russia. The reverse image is embellished with two colored Swarovski crystals to fully express the finesse and magnificence of the original Swan Egg.
