Dear Fellow Collectors,

In the last two years, we’ve grown from “Heritage who?” to the leader in popular culture collectibles auctions. We were awarded a Guiness World Record for the largest sale of comics, original art and movie posters ever, over $5 million. We’ve offered material from the personal collections of some of the industry’s leading lights, including Stan Lee, Julius Schwartz, Steve Geppi, Russ Cochran, Russ Heath, Larry Lieber and Harlan Ellison (and even some guy named Nicolas Cage. What comics did he do?). We’ve helped attract worldwide media attention to our hobby from major print and media outlets, including ABC, NBC, BBC, USA Today, Money Magazine, and the Dallas Morning News.

But are we content to wallow in past glories? Absolutely not! Here we are in Sunny San Diego, presenting our biggest, most ambitious auction yet in conjunction with Comic-Con 2003 (appropriately enough, we hear that this is their biggest, most ambitious show to date as well!). There’s something for everyone in this sale, no matter what your collecting passion.

Collect comics? We’ll start the temptation with several Golden Age keys, including Action #1 (CGC graded 2.5), Marvel Comics #1 (CGC graded 2.0), Detective Comics #27 (CGC graded 3.0), the Mile High copies of Adventure #79 (CGC graded 9.6) and Captain America #1 (CGC graded Apparent 9.0) and the San Francisco copy of Young Allies #1 (CGC graded 9.6).

Looking for something a bit more offbeat? How about Harvey Hits #3, the first appearance of Richie Rich (CGC graded 9.2), or Richie Rich #1 (CGC graded 9.4), both from the personal collection of Alan Harvey himself.

Or are Marvels more your thing? We’ve go a near-complete Marvel collection, all CGC graded 9.4 and better! We’ve even got more Stan Lee File copies and Stan Lee Signature Series books. Of course, if your looking for the ultimate item of cataclysmic cool from the treasure chest of Ol’ Smilin’ Stan himself, look no further than “The Man’s” own personal Spider-Man pinball machine! ‘Nuff said?

Maybe it’s collectible toys that get your juices flowing. If that’s the case, you’ve come to the right place. From the personal collection of GI Joe creator Don Levine, we’re proud to offer the hand-crafted prototype for the very first-ever action figure, a real American hero, GI JOE, along with other early Joe items that are sure to entice any toy collector or Americana enthusiast.

Original Art? Movie Posters? Illustration Art? Don’t see them here? Don’t worry. We just had so many groovy goodies we’ve been forced to split them into four…count ‘em…four separate catalogs. If there’s a catalog you’ve missed that you’d like to order, please feel free to call Allison Booth at 214-252-4290 and she’ll be glad to set you up.

And don’t forget to make plans to view our first wholesale Gallery auction AND our first Lightning auction next month at Wizard World Chicago, then our next Signature Auction scheduled for November 21-23 as part of the very first Wizard World Texas! We’re currently accepting consignments, so give us a call if you’d like to get in on all the fun and excitement as a consignor.

It’s been a great two years. We’ve made a lot of friends and had the privilege of offering some of the finest material ever to come to market. Of course, we couldn’t have done any of it without you, our fellow dealers and collectors. If there’s any way in which we can better serve you, please contact me personally at 214-252-4283 or by email at JPetty@HeritageComics.com.

Now that you’re properly prepared for what’s ahead, go ahead and turn the page and prepare yourself to be dazzled by the priceless treasures that await within. We’ll look forward to seeing you in San Diego!

Best wishes,

John E. Petty
