2001 Laguna Polychrome Jar by G. Paquin ''Sratyu'we'', measures 7''H x 6''D, has not been professionally repaired, signed and dated on bottom by artist, For someone who is known for traditional pottery designs, Gladys Paquin has had a remarkably varied experience: born of a Laguna mother and Zuni father, raised in the Pueblo of Santa Ana, near Albuquerque, NM, she lived in California for many years. Nonetheless, her designs are resolutely traditional Laguna; sometimes with a touch of Zuni tradition, too. Her lovely forms and designs have won many awards at Santa Fe Indian Market, and her work is in several museums, as well. Andrew Padilla Jr, known for his very different, contemporary pottery work, is her son.
