2000 Gourd Art ''Floating Feathers'', Sam McKinney, measures 7'' x 9'' and is signed on the bottom, embellished with beads, leather, arrowhead, and feathers, FYI: ''Sam McKinney, who lives in Lindsay, California, has been creating gourd art since 1998. She also grows her own gourds at her home in Lindsay. Sam uses gourds as a medium to do beading with both a Native American and a contemporary look. Pine needle coiling gives her the inspiration to create art from nature. Sam also adds wood burning to add that special touch. Not having formal art training, Sam has been fortunate to study with the best in the gourd world. She has taught a mas-ter class on coiling at Fresno State, and has taught beading classes with other teachers from across the United States.''
