2000 Barry Bonds Career Home Run Baseball Number 558. The second "splash landing" home run baseball in Pac Bell history was the possible future Home Run King's twelfth of the 2000 season, and number 558 of this controversial slugger's incredible career. Bonds tied the game at two against the Cardinals' Andy Benes, vaulting this traumatized sphere over the right field wall and into the cold salt water of San Francisco Bay on May 10, 2000. The ball shows the brutal effects of a meeting with the most devastating bat in baseball history, and is accompanied by a signed and notarized affidavit from known San Francisco ball hawk Thomas Hoynes who retrieved this ball from its watery grave. Also included in the lot is a copy of the San Francisco Chronicle's sports section from the following day, recounting Bonds' two-home run performance. If Bonds does overtake Aaron, all of his home run memorabilia will take on even greater importance and value, so betting men should be bidding men if your money's on Barry.
