The Representational Quality Of The Clothes Is Absolutely Superb As The Fabric Of Her Dress Scrunches Up And Away From Her Falling Body. The Expression Of Her Face And Body Almost Gives The Impression Of A Free-Fall Into A Realm Of Expanse, Where Everything Is Set Free From Peril And Care. Two Dogs Sit Stoically On Either Side Of Her Upon The Bronze Plinth. She Was Molded Using The Ancient Method Of Lost-Wax Casting And Stained With A Brown Patina Finish. She Is Mounted Upon A Black Marble Base With The European Bronze Finery Stamp Of Quality And The Artist Claire Jeanne Rob Colinet'S Signature. Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet (1852-1908) Was A Belgian Sculptor Colinet Was Well Known In Her Day And Remembered For Her Series Dancers Of The World, Which Included Ankara Dancer. Colinet Worked In Ivory, Bronze And Chryselephantine, As Did Most Other Sculptors Of The Time.Colinet Regularly Incorporated Theatrical Themes Into Her Sculptors, Especially With Her Dancers.
