Final Shooting Script (8.5" x 11") Signed by James Mason, Earl Felton, Kirk Douglas, Peter Lorre, and Paul Lucas
Very Fine+
Buena Vista Pictures, 1954

This rare "rainbow" Final Shooting Script features a screenplay by Earl Felton. It consists of 141 pages with the original pages on blue stock and revised pages on various other colored stock. It was 3-hole punched and bound with two brass brads between an off-white front and back cover, with a paper label from Walt Disney Productions indicating a Final Shooting Script. This example was signed on the title page by cast members James Mason, Kirk Douglas, Peter Lorre, and Paul Lucas, as well as screenwriter Earl Felton. Additionally, there is a statement on CBS Research stationery from Tom Kneitel, whose uncle was director Richard Fleischer (the film's director), who acquired the signatures and then passed this script to his nephew. Mr. Fleischer then dedicated this script to his nephew in pencil in the lower half of the title page.

The sci-fi adventure film adaptation of Jules Verne's famous novel, starring Kirk Douglas, James Mason, and Peter Lorre, was not only the first feature-length project to be filmed in Cinemascope but also the first Disney film to be distributed by Buena Vista. It is a classic in its own right and a milestone in film history.
