Burns was something of a legend at Cripple Creek. He was a hero to the union for the stance he took in the 1903 strike. 2) The Portland Gold Mining Company. Stock #5615 for 100 shares to Arthur W. Butler in 1910. Signed by Frank Peck and James F. Burns. The Portland Company's property was located adjacent to the Independence on Battle Mountain.
