The brooches in the Skonvirke style are considered the most popular Scandinavian jewelries. These two fine brooches adorned with ambers are typical examples of the sculptural Skonvirke style, which often features cabochons. Skonvirke refers to the Danish Arts and Crafts movement of the Art Nouveau. These two pieces of jewelry, made ??around 1910 by S.L. Jacobsen & Co. and Bernhard Hertz from Copenhagen, certainly cope with the term ‘fine art’ (=Skonvirke).

On the reverse, the brooches are hallmarked with the purity and the manufacturer's mark , ‘830S‘ and ‘SI‘, and ‘826‘ and ‘BH‘ with dragonfly respectively. The dimensions are 5.5 x 3.7 x 1.7 cm and 4.5 cm, the total weight being 13.6 grams. The two jewelry pieces are in good condition with only a few wear marks. The large amber is a little chipped, which, however, does not affect the good overall impression. The brooches will be delivered in a noble box. (cko)
