Gordon Setter with Duck in its Mouth is numbered 369/800, FYI: ''Leon Danchin was a French artist specializing in drawings and paintings of sporting dogs. He was born on June 21, 1887 in Lille, France and studied sculpture at the cole des Beaux Art in Paris before being accepted by the Salon des Artists at the young age of 16. Danchin began working in watercolor and printmaking, producing around 100 engravings and lithographs over the course of his life. He enjoyed considerable commercial success in France, Belgium, the United States, and England and, later in his life, moved to Bergues where he hunted regularly and gathered inspiration for his art, drawing many of the hunting scenes for which he is best known. He died on August 4, 1938, in Bergues, France.''
