<B>Two Robes Presented to the Family of Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush by the Emir of Kuwait Following the First Gulf War. </B></I> The man’s black cloak, a <I>Bisht</B></I>, is 60” long and richly trimmed in gold. It is essentially a flowing outer cloak made of wool, worn over the <I>thobe</B></I>. It is usually only worn for prestige on special occasions such as weddings, or festivals such as Eid, or for the Friday prayer. Included is an <I>ogal</B></I>, the back cord that holds the traditional headdress in place.<BR><BR>The woman’s white robe is 54” long with a hood. The front is covered with floral motifs and silver thread crescents and stars. The robe has a rope belt.
