Klumpe Dolls are unique figures that were made in Patentado, Spain from 1952 to the early 1970s. These dolls from molded fabric that was layered over bendable wire and range from 5" to 10" tall and were manufactured by by several different Spanish Companies for the tourism industry. Klumpe and Roldan are the most notable of the companies that manufactured these dolls. A company called Effanbee (or F&B) started to import these dolls into the United States as well as a few other companies. To verify the authenticity, each doll came with a hang tag with the name "Klumpe Barcelona"
These bendable dolls have unique characteristics and represent people performing a task or working in various occupations.[3] Because of their distinctive nature they are now considered collectible items. The value of each individual doll will depend on it's rarity. Those dolls that came with accessories are considered more cherished than those without. The most valuable of all these Klumpe Dolls were made before the 1960s because they were made with higher quality materials.
