1) A fine Prussian M1889 folding guard Cavalry Officer's sword measuring 38 1/4" overall with a 31 3/4" blade. The single fullered blade is etched with foliate decoration and a blued panel that shows a mounted Cavalry Officer on one side and a blued panel that reads " Jager zu Pferde XI. A. k. "on the other. The plated hilt has a folding guard, with a pierced Prussian eagle, that is a bit loose. Shaped composite grip and a black enameled scabbard. CONDITION: blade is a bit dull and could use a cleaning. Hilt and scabbard show light wear. 2) A very fine Prussian M1889 folding guard Cavalry Officer's sword measuring 39 1/2" overall with a 33" blade. The single fullered blade is etched with foliate decoration and a panel that shows an opposed cavalry charge on one side and a blued panel that reads " Ulanen Regt. v. Schmidt (1. Pomm.) No.4 " with a crowned "URS 4" on the other. The plated hilt has a folding guard, with a pierced Prussian eagle, that is a bit loose. Shaped composite grip and a black enameled scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows substantial original factory finish, Hilt exhibits very light wear. Scabbard seems to be 1/4" short. (02-25014/BF). $400-600.
