The two small tables originate from Japan, around 1940. They are crafted of wood in rectangular form and designed with open-work carving. These depict dragons and masks that are regarded as symbols of power and strength. The four low legs end in claw feet with talons. Both the tables serve as trivets for Satsuma lamp vases.
The two trivet tables are in good condition, they show partially traces of wear. On the surfaces are scratches and marks of the vases. The dimensions are each 13.5 x 39.7 x 23.5 cm (height x width x depth). (tm)
