2 Framed Coin SetsBoth sets have wooden frames and a plexiglass covering over the coins. They measure approximately 10" by 12" including the frames. The following two sets are included:THE FORTY NINERS Liberty Head Nickels - includes 9 Liberty Head Nickels. The Liberty Head Nickel was designed in 1883 by Charles E. Barber. On the obverse is a delicately profiled Liberty Head and thirteen stars. In the original design a large "V" appeared on the reverse, but the word "cents" was missing. This oversight was corrected in 1883 and the amended version was minted until 1913. THE WAY WEST Buffalo Nickels - includes 14 Buffalo Nickels. The Buffalo Nickel, first minted in 1913, was designed by James F. Fraser. The model for the buffalo was Black Diamond, a 1,500 pound bison owned by the New York Zoological Gardens. It has been determined that the Indian was a composite portrait of three chiefs from different tribes. The last date of issue for this coin is 1938
