<B>LINCOLN FRIENDS MISS CLARA HARRIS & HENRY RATHBONE- CABINET CARDS, CIRCA 1880S.</B></I> The daughter of New York Senator Ira Harris, Miss Harris was invited with her fiancée (Rathbone) by the Lincolns to Ford's Theatre to see the play “Our American Cousin.” In 1867, Miss Clara Harris married Henry Rathbone; they had three children. This studio image cabinet card of Miss Clara Harris was photographed by Handy of Washington D. C. Born in Albany, New York, Rathbone served with distinction during Civil War as a staff officer. He was brevetted for gallantry in the battles from Rapidan to Petersburg, Va. His image was also photographed by Handy. <BR><BR><B>Provenance: </B></I><I>Al.
