This lot comprises two bottles of 1982 vintage Château Lascombes from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux.

Margaux is located in Médoc and is one the finest appellations in France. Ernest Hemingway was so fond of Margaux wine that he named his daughter after it. The most widely used grape variety is Cabernet Sauvignon, which is always blended with other varieties like Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The wines are long-lasting and should only be savored after several years of proper storage.

1982 was a very special vintage in Bordeaux. It is one of those truly great vintages, like 1945 and 1961, which will be talked about for decades to come. American wine critic Robert Parker made a name for himself when he described this vintage as outstanding, contradicting the opinion of many other wine critics. Time proved him right and sealed his reputation as the most influential wine critic in the world. A truly fine wine that will only continue to develop over the next 50 years!

The 1982 vintage Lascombes was rated 87 points by Robert Parker in 1995. James Suckling rated it 88 points for Wine Spectator in 1998. René Gabriel rated the wine 18 out of 20 points in 2012.

The fill levels are excellent (into neck). The labels and capsules are in perfect condition.
