After returning to Europe, he completed the anti-monarchist, pro-revolutionary book The Rights of Man in early 1791, the publication of which resulted in his being put on trial by "Mad" King George III. Though Paine didn't attend the trial, he was found "guilty of the charges alleged against him" (the pamphlet ends with this verdict). These pages are in fair condition, with stains, soiling, and slightly tattered edges; the remains of a twine binding are still present at the spine. The slipcase is fine with minor wear.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
