1879 steel engraving bookplate of founding father & president of the United States Thomas Jefferson. From an engraving on copper by Saint-Memin, made for Mr. Jefferson during his residence in Paris & until recently in possession of his grand daughter Mrs. Benjamin Franklin Randolph. 5 1/2" X 9 1/2". Thomas Jefferson ( April 13, 1743 – July 4, 1826 ) was an American statesman, diplomat, lawyer, architect, and Founding Father who served as the third president of the United States from 1801 to 1809.
