19th century, the hinged lid rosewood lap desk inlaid with mother of pearl and silver, the top with a centered monogram "AWD" surrounded by strap work, opening to reveal a grain painted interior, purple velvet writing surface; together with two calling cards for Captain Arthur W. Darragh, Signal Corps, National Guard of Colorado, a pair of shoulder boards, and a small Bible inscribed to Captain Darragh through a line of descent to 1908. 5 1/2"H. 15"W. 11"D. Condition: some light to moderate surface imperfections, age hairline cracks to top, lacking some inlay, interior writing surface with light to moderate surface imperfections, Bible with some damage, otherwise good..
