19th-century German Conta Boehme Victorian fairing trinket box, depicting a little boy wiping tears & a kitty cat eating from a saucer. Vivid colors & most of gilt remaining. #90 on bottom. The underside of lid stamped 172 & 3509, as well as the Conta Boehme shield stamp. 3 1/4" W X 2 1/4" D X 4 1/4" H. * Fairing boxes were created as prices or rewards won or "fairly earned" at carnivals & fairs during Victorian times.
