Late 19th Century French opera hand fan. Hand-painted silk focal panel depicting an 18thc courting scene, surrounded with an intricate floral designed Belgian lace. Mother of pearl ribs with ornate gold giltfloral embellishment. The balance of the ribs, as seen on the reverse side, are made of pierced bone. 18" W X 10" H. * a barely visible older repair to the main rib, as seen in photo, otherwise in very good condition.
