Original 1874 engraving, book plate print, "Hunted Down" from "The Life & Habits of Wild Animals" book. Illustrations by German-British artist Joseph Wolf ( 1820 - 1899 ). Wolf worked at the British Museum'sNatural History section from 1848. The scene depicts a rabbit hiding behind a branch, hunted by hawks. 9" X 12". * some light partial hand-coloring by watercolor, as seen in photos. an old water stain to the bottomof the print, outside the framing area.
