<td width="100%">
Late 19th century fan from Japan.
The catalogus of the auction, where I bought it 11 years ago says"paper with silk over it", but I see only paper.
On one side it is painted with 14 figures, on the other with birds and flowers.
The sticks are bamboo and something else.
The front and the back stick are laid in with small insects in the Shibayastyle [one stick is missing two insects]
The Ojime, hanging on a rope, is also inlaid wirh insects[one is missing].
The paper has e few small defects [on top, where you fold it the most,there are a few small tears]
The fan itself is 10.63 inches[27 centimeter] long [without everything hanging on it].
It can go 19.7 inches [50 centimeter] wide.
Despite small defects in good condition.
